Day 67

Dried Apricots

Yikes! Not a good introduction to the apricot. VERY disturbing texture. Will try a fresh one.

  1. Was it a California or Turkish apricot? California dried apricots have a different (and to us, much better) taste & texture than Turkish. I actually find fresh apricots a bit mealy and under flavored, but you may disagree. Keep on experimenting!

  2. I think it was Turkish … will investigate further. (It’s amazing how much there is to learn about food. Who knew?)

    • I was going to jump in and say to try Turkish apricots as well. They’re really good.

I actually like dried apricots, as well as dried banana chips and apple chips. What I don’t like dried is any kind of raisin—regular raisins, craisins, etc. Gross.

  3. dried apricots are intense sugary mush but dried mango is even more vile! ‘Keep fruit wet’ say I.
