Raspberry Preserves

CNN’s foodie blog, Eatocracy, informed me it was National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day. Why we should have a countrywide observance of this kindergarten delicacy is anyone’s guess. But it was easy for me to observe, since I eat PB&Js most weekdays. I celebrated a bit by slathering new-to-me food raspberry preserves on my white bread. The seeds weren’t as off-putting as imagined — only mildly irritating. Even so, I’ll have to pass on the jarred raspberries. Too sweet.
