Day 210

Pudding-Coated Goldfish

From the looks of this, you might get the impression that I’ve finally run out of new food options and I’m throwing together mismatched snacks in a panic. Or that I’ve finally lost my mind and I’m dipping the family pets in chocolate. Not so. This delicacy was courtesy of my neice, who’s spending the night and insisted this was junk-food heaven. Since it sounded better than any of the suggestions my 6-year-old added to the conversation, I gave it a shot. And she was right — salty chedder crackers with smiley faces pair well with pudding packs. I’m not about to adopt her potato-chips-dipped-in-ketchup habit, though.

  1. I don’t know how I accidentally tripped across your site but I love, love, love it … I have subscribed to your blog feed & I’m nominating you for MY Food Stories Award for Excellence in Storytelling. I know some bloggers don’t participate in blog awards but I hope you’ll at least check it out because mine is unique in the fact that it is only is given to food sites and all the nominees are in the running for the monthly award and prize. If you’re interested, you can check out the details at my site … http://foodstoriesblog.com/food-stories-award/ … Either way, love your site and I hope you’re having a great foodie day! Are you the illustrator?

    • Much obliged! I am the illustrator — it’s my favorite part of the experiment.
I’m terrible about following through on blog awards. But will try to work up enough energy … there are lots of great bloggers around that deserve a virtual high-five.
