Babka

Yes, I’m a Polish woman who’s never eaten this Eastern European dessert bread. But I’ve been babka-curious ever since the folks on Seinfeld made such a big to-do about it. I had the cinnamon variety — the sort Elaine refers to as “lesser babka” — and it’s decadently good. The I-can’t-believe-I-mixed-in-that-much-butter sort of decadent. This recipe from Cook’s Country claims to have cut back on the usual amount, but it still calls for more than a stick.

  1. Cinnamon babka is really good. I tried the chocolate one too, but found it gross. (This coming from someone who loves chocolate.)
